Whether it’s social media, gaming, pornography, or gambling, internet addictions can get in the way of positive functioning and health. Too much time on Snapchat or Facebook can get in the way of developing real life relationships. Online gaming can be a fun hobby, but it can become problematic when those games take priority over our responsibilities and relationships. Finding romantic intimacy can be hard, so pornography can be an easy way to fill that desire. However, like social media and online games, pornography is a fake reality that will leave you wanting more.
If overactive internet use is getting in the way of your health and wellbeing, set up an appointment with me. A fulfilling, more meaningful life awaits.
